After 35 years in their Tustin home, the Hays faced a deteriorating deck, unused lawn, and a blocking sitting wall. They applied for IRWD’s turf removal rebate, receiving guidance from Water Efficiency Specialist Jake Loukeh.

Linda appreciated the process: “The online application makes it really easy. You can track progress and IRWD does a great job keeping you in the loop.”

They hired designer Amy Lawrence, securing approximately $4,000 in rebates. Their new landscape features a green-trunked palo verde tree, California natives, succulents, flowering shrubs, vegetable beds with drip irrigation, a recirculating rock fountain, and a fire pit using repurposed demolition materials.

Scott reflected: “Best of all, our family and friends like to come over more often to enjoy our beautiful backyard.”
